Speaking of weird

When I was with the league we had our share of alien visitors. Some were friendly and with those we traded technology such as the uniform I wear or the laser weapon Blogger enjoyed a while back. Others were plain rude and we, or I, promptly showed them "the door". They always made their intentions clear, hoever. You simply don't travel lightyears through space to just simply get chased off so easily.

A day ago I noticed something through my skylight. It was a quick glint, but enough to catch my attention and zoom in on it. (Still getting used to the boosts I get, I was able to make out quite a bit more than I needed very quickly.) Without knowing their intention I decided to make my way out to meet them. In seconds I was shooting through the clouds once again. I've always loved flying!

My enjoyment was cut short when light lanced passed my shoulder. I felt the heat of it as it passed and realized that our visitor was not of the friendly type. I thought it a bit strange that it was such a small vessel, not much bigger than an jet fighter, was out all alone, but I made sure they got the message.

To make a point, I allowed it to fire into my body. Several beams splashed over me. The heat wasn't uncomfortable, the tingling wasn't unpleasant. It left me buzzing all over. I surpressed a giggle as I watched it turn tail and run at surprising, but not difficult speed. Catching up, I flew up beside it and noticed there was no cockpit or window or anything.

"Well, if it's robotic, then it won't hurt to do this." I spoke to myself. It's thrusters pushed to compensate for it's immediate stop, but it was under my notice. I gathered the ship smaller and smaller into my hands. The metal was tougher than I've encountered on Earth, but then nothing much is hard to do on Earth. It gave just like every other compound has under my grip. I compressed it as much as my strength would allow me and launched it into the sun. I dusted my hands off brickly and looked about.

After a few minutes darting around the Solar System, I was under the impression that the small annoyance wasn't really missed. Besides, things between Zara and Blogger were getting interesting!

I'll keep an eye out. A small part of me doesn't feel right about that ship. What do you think?
